EE Insurance vs BiMPY
EE offers two phone insurance plans that are only available when you take out a new contract or upgrade. They are fixed, tied to your airtime deal, and come with higher excess fees. BiMPY® is different. Our cover is genuinely flexible, built as a 30-day rolling policy you can start or stop whenever you like, and open to everyone whether you upgrade through a network or buy your phone outright.
One of the biggest differences is theft cover. BiMPY includes theft as standard on both Essential and Full plans from as little as £4 per month. EE does not include theft cover on their Basic plan for the Samsung Galaxy S25 which starts at £10.08 per month with a £100 excess.
If you are comparing real world protection rather than just the name of the insurer, this matters. Theft is one of the most common and costly phone claims in the UK. With BiMPY you are covered from day one with a clear, simple excess. With EE you would need to upgrade to their Full plan to get theft included.
Here is how EE insurance compares to BiMPY when you look at the details side by side.

Where they differ
Flexibility
BiMPY® works on a simple month to month basis. There are no long contracts and no need to be tied to a network. You can start or stop your cover whenever you choose.
EE insurance is only available when you take out a new EE contract or upgrade. You cannot add it at any other time which means your insurance is locked to your airtime agreement.
Price and excess
BiMPY starts from £4 per month with a clear £50 excess on damage and theft claims.
EE starts from £10.08 per month for the Galaxy S25 with a £100 excess. Their Full Cover rises to £14 per month which is almost three times the cost of BiMPY Full.
Theft and loss
BiMPY includes theft as standard on both Essential and Full plans. Loss is included on Full.
EE Basic does not include theft at all for the Galaxy S25. Loss is only available if you pay for EE Full Cover.
Real world protection
BiMPY gives you unlimited damage claims, worldwide cover for up to 90 days each year, and a simple policy you can adjust at any time.
EE offers similar cover on paper but limits when and how you can join and charges higher excess fees on every claim.
Multi phone savings
BiMPY offers a 3 for 2 discount which makes it far easier and cheaper to insure a household or a business.
EE does not offer any multi phone discount.
